I started this week by sit down and reflecting on the lessons this month. I find myself overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and liberation. February is the start of a fresh chapter for me, it gave me a profound realization—one that is down for the books reshaping my perspective and illuminated the path ahead.
Among the many lessons learned and experiences gained through the last couple of years, one of the most profound revelations has been the beauty in letting go of my pride and embracing vulnerability. I always had this idea that asking for help was a sign of weakness, a testament to my own limitations but life has taught me differently.
Let’s talk about the raw realities of motherhood. I believe that all moms can resonate with what I am about to say. This month I had a big decision to make and that was to put my pride aside and talk with the father of my daughter and not only was I going to talk to him but ask for help!
I know this may sound silly but this is really what I felt. The idea of me reaching out, asking for help made me feel sick to my stomach, literally felt like I was going to vomit. I even had sleepless nights, my anxiety was through the roof!
But what I want you to understand is that asking for help is not an admission of inadequacy, but an act of courage and self-love. It is a recognition of our own humanity, a testament to our willingness to prioritize our well-being above all else. When I hit send button on that text to my ex my heart stopped, heck I even stopped breathing as I watched that delivered message appear. Let me tell you I added all this extra stress on myself just to receive a message back saying that they are willing to lend a helping hand. Listen, reaching out is the best way to show yourself love. This is how we open ourselves to the support and guidance of others, creating bonds that go beyond limits and help us know ourselves better.
It's incredible how such a simple shift in perspective can bring such a wonderful transformative change. I discovered a newfound strength—a strength rooted in vulnerability, authenticity, and an amazing belief in my own worthiness.
I want, asking for help to become a beacon of light, guiding you through the darkest of times and illuminating each path towards growth and self-discovery. Life’s journey is about learning to lean into discomfort, embracing the uncertainty that accompanies vulnerability and finally understanding that you are not alone.
A beautiful life lesson: Embracing vulnerability is perhaps one of the most courageous acts we can undertake.
May this blog help you break free from those chains and help you see the power of vulnerability, allow you to celebrate the human spirit, and a reminder that our greatest strength lies not in our ability to stand alone, but in our willingness to lean on each other in times of need.
Sending you love and light always,
Jenifer xo
